Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) is a far-right Islamic extremist political party in Pakistan known for its protests against any changes to the blasphemy law in the country. The party has been involved in several anti-Christian and anti-Qadian acts, including:
- Muslim mobs attack churches in eastern Pakistan: In August 2023, a Muslim mob attacked a Christian area in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, burning a church, damaging four others, and several Christian homes. The mob was led by local clerics, mainly from TLP, who accused Christians of desecrating the Quran1.3
- TLP protests against the acquittal of a Christian woman sentenced to death for blasphemy: In 2018, Pakistan's Supreme Court acquitted Asia Bibi, a Christian woman who had been sentenced to death for blasphemy. TLP led violent protests against her acquittal, calling for her execution and the death of the judges who acquitted her.6
